Hot Press GRP Panel Tank

GRP Panel tanks, which is also known as Fiberglass Reinforced Water Tank is a modular/sectional water tank solution that lets us get water tanks in any desired size. There are two types of panel available in the market known as  Cold Press and Hot Press.

The hot press panels are made from pressing Sheet Molding Compound(SMC) in a compression machine. The SMC is cut into appropriate pieces and placed on mold. After that, the compression is applied and the temperature gets increased to 150 degree Celsius. It activates the catalyst agent and hardens the SMC. It’s later released from the mold then finishing and holing is done and they are ready to be delivered.

Panel tanks come in heights of 1m to 4m. There are some basic panel sizes and panels are assembled depending on the tank size. Additionally, there are also two variations.

  1. Hot Press Insulated Panel.
  2. Hot Press Non-insulated Panels.

Insulated panels have additional layer of foam enclosed by panel and fiber skin. This helps keep the water temperature constant. On the other hand, stored water in cold press panel tanks without proper shades will may turn too hot or too cold depending on weather.

Panel tanks have some basic sizes of panels, which are joined together to get the desired size. These tanks are very easy to install and common sizes mostly takes less than a day to complete. Additionally these tanks are also easily maintainable. In case of failing panels because of long use, GRP Repair is still an option if the condition allows.
